Industrial workforce and access governance, in plain language.
38 terms across CLRA, Schedule M 2024, MSIHC, MAH, BRSR, DPDPA, IATF 16949, and the legacy stack (STK, DACS, BioTime, ARS) that most plants are migrating away from. Built for Plant Heads, EHS, HR and Procurement at Indian industrial plants.
A
Automatic Number Plate Recognition. Camera-based system that reads vehicle licence plates at the gate. In Zentry, Drive uses ANPR to match every inbound vehicle to its GST e-Way Bill at the point of entry.
Audience Response System. A category of legacy batch-training equipment used at Indian industrial plants for contract-labour induction. A single screen plays the safety induction video. Each trainee holds a registered remote and answers on-screen questions by voting. Up to 20 to 30 trainees can be examined per session at one kiosk. Certificates are typically issued at the session level, often without a tamper-evident chain back to individual trainees, and the plant gate cannot verify a worker certificate at the point of zone entry. Zentry Induct™ replaces ARS with individual kiosk-based induction: per-worker, per-batch, per-zone, with on-screen exam, tamper-evident signed certificate, and live gate verification at every zone entry.
An append-only, signed, tamper-evident record of every operationally captured event. The audit log is the substrate from which every audit narrative projects. In Zentry, every gate read, kiosk submission and certificate validation lands in the audit log.
B
Legacy time-and-attendance software from the late 1990s and early 2000s, deployed at thousands of Indian industrial plants alongside biometric hardware. Modern integrated platforms (Zentry included) replace BioTime with the Gate Muster view that auto-generates CLRA Forms XIII to XXIII from the same gate events.
Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report. The SEBI-mandated ESG reporting framework for listed Indian companies. Operational data (training hours, contractor hours, accident records, energy proxies) must be reported. Zentry Learn and Worksheet provide live BRSR-relevant operational metrics.
C
Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation. The Indian regulatory body that oversees pharma GMP compliance. CDSCO conducts surveillance inspections under Schedule M of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules 1945.
Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970. The Indian labour statute that governs contract labour at every plant with 20+ contract workers. Requires the principal employer and each contractor to maintain Forms XIII through XXIII.
D
Door Access Control System. Legacy access control software deployed at Indian industrial plants in the 2000s and 2010s. Typically integrated with biometric hardware (STK, ZKTeco, Suprema). Modern integrated platforms (Zentry included) replace DACS with the Gate Access view.
Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. The Indian data protection statute that governs the processing of personal data. At the plant gate, DPDPA requires explicit consent for visitor PII, India-resident storage, withdrawal and erasure workflows, and a Data Protection Officer.
Data Protection Officer. Required under DPDPA 2023 for entities above defined thresholds (which captures most mid-to-large industrial plants). Responsible for the consent ledger, erasure ledger, breach notification process and overall DPDPA posture.
E
The GST-mandated electronic waybill required for movement of goods above defined thresholds in India. At the plant gate, Drive ANPR matches every inbound and outbound vehicle to its e-Way Bill, producing inbound logistics traceability for customer supply chain audits.
Environment, Health and Safety. The plant function responsible for safety induction, hazard zone management, mock drills, and compliance with the Factories Act, MSIHC and Schedule M expectations. Primary buyer of Zentry Induct and Zentry Learn.
The Zentry multi-plant Group bundle: Sitewide+ across 5+ plants with a central Group console and cross-plant policy management. Built for industrial Groups with Group CFO, CIO and EHS Head visibility requirements.
F
Section 41B of the Factories Act mandates safety induction at the point of entry for every worker at notified plants. Whiteboard inductions and paper sign-off sheets no longer satisfy §41B in the 2024-26 inspection environment.
Section 41C of the Factories Act applies to Major Accident Hazard (MAH) units. Requires on-site emergency procedures, mock drills, and role-and-zone-specific training for every worker entering hazard zones.
The CLRA muster roll, the daily attendance record. The form Labour Officers ask for first at every inspection. Zentry Gate Muster view auto-generates Form XVI in the Central Rules prescribed format from the gate event stream.
The CLRA wages register. Must reconcile to Form XVI (the muster roll) for every period. The most common Labour Officer finding pattern is reconciliation gaps between Form XVI and Form XVII.
The CLRA overtime register. Tracks worker overtime against the statutory limit. Zentry auto-flags any worker approaching the statutory limit before the breach happens, eliminating the most common overtime finding pattern.
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India schedule that governs hygiene at food and FMCG manufacturing plants. Requires visitor and contractor hygiene induction trails and per-zone access controls at food handling areas.
G
Project hours measured from gate scan-in to gate scan-out, not guessed from contractor agency bills or timesheet entries. Zentry Worksheet ties project P&L to gate-anchored hours, giving plant CFOs measurable rather than estimated project margin visibility.
Good Manufacturing Practice. The quality framework for pharma manufacturing, codified in India under Schedule M of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules. The 2024 Schedule M revision raised the documentation bar for contractor induction trails specifically.
I
The automotive quality management standard, the global benchmark for Tier-1 automotive component suppliers. OEM customer surveillance audits under IATF 16949 typically include detailed access control and inbound logistics traceability sections.
Zentry Induct, the kiosk safety induction module. Delivers role-specific 3-minute induction with on-screen exam and tamper-evident certificate. Built for MAH units, pharma GMP plants and Section 41B compliance.
Indian Standard 14489, the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) audit code. Applies across all sectors. The OSH audit covers visitor, contractor, vehicle and induction evidence as a single integrated chain.
M
Major Accident Hazard unit, designated under MSIHC 1989 for plants handling or storing hazardous chemicals above defined thresholds. MAH units operate under the strictest hazard zone access regime in Indian industrial law.
The Manufacture, Storage and Import of Hazardous Chemicals Rules 1989. Defines the regulatory regime for hazardous chemical operations in India. Applies primarily to specialty chemicals, petrochem and fertilizer plants.
The Zentry Gate projection that auto-generates CLRA Forms XIII through XXIII from the gate event stream. Used by HR Heads, Time Office Managers and IR Managers.
O
Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code 2020, the consolidated Indian OSH framework that subsumes several earlier statutes. Applies pan-India. Zentry Sitewide bundle covers the core OSH evidence requirements.
P
Zentry Pass, the industrial visitor management module. DPDPA-compliant, with kiosk self-service, e-Invite, NDA capture at entry and host alerts. Replaces paper visitor books.
S
The 2024 revision to Schedule M of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules 1945. Raised the documentation bar for Indian pharma GMP plants, particularly for the contractor induction trail at the cleanroom entry.

The architectural pattern that separates modern integrated industrial platforms from legacy point-solution stacks. Every operationally captured event lands in one tamper-evident, signed log, from which every audit narrative projects as a read.
The Zentry single-plant bundle: Pass + Gate + Drive. The wedge bundle that most plants start with. Covers the gate audit perimeter.
The Zentry full-suite single-plant bundle: all six modules (Pass + Gate + Drive + Induct + Learn + Worksheet). Built for regulated plants under real audit cycles.
Legacy biometric attendance hardware brand, deployed widely at Indian industrial plants in the late 1990s and 2000s. Often paired with DACS access control and BioTime attendance software, and with ARS Audience Response Systems used for batch contractor training. Modern integrated platforms (Zentry included) work with STK hardware or replace it depending on the plant's choice.
W
Zentry Worksheet, the project and time intelligence module. Ties project P&L to gate-anchored hours. Built for Plant CFOs, COOs and PMO Heads.
Z
Biometric hardware brand widely deployed at Indian industrial plants. Zentry Gate works with ZKTeco hardware out of the box, preserving the plant's existing biometric investment.

One event. Six audit narratives.
Every gate read, every kiosk submission, every certificate validation lands in a single tamper-evident, signed log. From that one event, six modules produce six distinct evidence trails, for six different audits, six different inspectors and six different heads inside the plant.
